Experiences, General Notes

1. Bad Experience: EyeMasters

2. "I have worked with a company that repairs glasses. Also, I have been done wrong by Eye Master and Lens Crafters. Because of the knowledge I obtained from that position AND from personal experience I can say this: the turnover of technicians at any of the big chains is usually very high. So this should be a sign of the potential quality of the lenses. I have never been satisfied unless I go to a locally owned place for my glasses to be made."

Recommendations

Austin Eye Works, Oak Hill

very professional folks who I've been going to for 6 years.

Eyes of Texas

"I have worked with a company that repairs glasses. Also, I have been done wrong by Eye Master and Lens Crafters. Because of the knowledge I obtained from that position AND from personal experience I can say this: the turnover of technicians at any of the big chains is usually very high. So this should be a sign of the potential quality of the lenses. I have never been satisfied unless I go to a locally owned place for my glasses to be made. I go to Eyes of Texas but there are many more. It is so worth the money to pay more to get quality work and customer service."

Far West Optical, Dr. Garth Weaver

"I have no reservations about recommending Dr. Garth Weaver at Far West Optical (3908 Far West Blvd, 343-0432). He has been taking care of our family of four eye glass wearers for years without a problem."

Vision Quest

"Call Vision Quest and talk to Elaine. She has busted her tush finding me glasses for years now [I'm picky] and the doctor there knows his stuff. Another suggestion would be Austin Eye Works in Oak Hill. He was my doc when Elaine worked there and is very good, but I followed Elaine over to her new job because she is a great optician and works hard to fit her clients properly."
