In Austin Bootstrap partners with the Small Business Development Program and is listed as a key econonmic development resource by the Austin Chamber of Commerce.
Many economic development initiatives focus heavily on attracting large companies or investors. This is a challenging strategy because both firms and investors have a list of requirements and seek tangible economic incentives. It also neglects the most powerful asset already avialable to the community - it's latent entrepreneurs - who often fall into the Entrepreneurial Myths
The Bootstrap Network works with city economic development offices, Chambers of Commerce and other local organizations to create local Bootstrap communities.
Services
- Educate City Leadership through interactive talks and Boot Speak sessions (half, one and two-day)
- Create, support and organize a local bootstrap chapter similar to Bootstrap Austin
- Teach bootstrapping principles via live or online Bootstrap Bootcamps offered through the local partner
- Deploy city-specific web-based tools to support the local bootstrap chapter
- Guide high-potential ventures through the key stages - Ideation, Valley of Death, Growth - of the bootstrap process
- Connect the local chapter with the larger Bootstrap Network
