Charter/Mission
There is a huge amount of energy happening in the realm of educational transformation. As is illustrated in the recent Boot Strap Book Club book, "Starfish and the Spider," businesses like Amazon, Ebay, and Craigslist are thriving because of people's intrinsic desire to want to give back and contribute to a larger community. There are many of those people in the field of education, and the time is ripe for change.
Business leaders need to step up to channel this energy in parallel directions, so we are not all reinventing the wheel, and to show that there is huge potential for overlap in social entrepreneurship and education. It is time let go of the limiting poverty mentality that dominates educational enterprises and create a new paradigm; one of abundance, and out-of-the-box creative thinking.
The Bootstrap Education Community is inclusive, a place to collaborate and model abundance and creativity, bringing together education and business to offer relevant and practical solutions to the needs of our global community.
